"Thank You Posts"
An unofficial site relating to:
"The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints."
Here is a tip of the iceberg of some of the thank you notes I have received since the WOW list began. In reading them, you will see why I keep on sending out the quotes each and every day. I removed the last name and e-mail addresses of these posts. I have divided up the thank you posts into different groups. Please click on the section below that you would like to look at. |

Re: "If we do not do our duty in regard to missionary service, then I am convinced that God will hold us responsible for the people we might have saved had we done our duty." --Spencer W. Kimball (Ensign, October 1977, page 5) Dear Denis, This message hits home I had a nightmare about it and now have commited to serve a mission. I am 23 years old and have been a member since I was 16. I never felt like I needed to serve the Lord in this capacity. I am hoping to save enough money to leave next September. I really appreciate the service you provide to the latter day saints as well as non members. Keep up the good work! Shannon |
Dear Denis, I became aware of your service almost a year ago, when a stake newsletter came out with a story about your e-mail quotes. I just wanted to thank you for these quotes. They are an inspiration for us all. Keep up the good work. May the Lord bless you in your efforts to share the gospel in all countries. Thank you, Amber :o) |
Hi, This last Sunday I got to give a talk in Church. I used a number of your quotes. They really helped me get my message of repentance and forgivness across to the ward. Talking is not my forte. Being in the bishopric means every third Fast Sunday I have to conduct and of course sometimes I'm asked to speak w/o time to prepare. Your service is truly a God send. Thanks. I'm sure Moses wouldn't have needed Aaron if you'd have been around in his day. Harold |
Date: Mon, 18 Aug 1997 22:30:37 -0700 Subject: WOW is GREAT!!! i am amazed with this program you have started up. i have been a member since the beginning. i am also a WOOL fan both programs provide wonderful, exciting, spiritual messages that many of us need. these quotes and messages give us our spiritual boost when we need it. i always check my e mail in the morning and it has been able to inspire me and get my day started on the right track. when the youth of the church go to seminary in the morning and get there day started with spiritual and uplifting messages, i can get the same warm touching messages by comming to my computer and receiving the WONDERFUL messages you provide for us. i love this program and i will support it until i die. THANK YOU so much, you probably don't know what you have done but if you just take one minute and think of all the people you have touched it is amazing and wonderful of the great missionary work you have done for so many. YOU ARE AND WILL BE BLESSED FOREVER AND EVER!!! YOUR WONDERFUL MISSIONARY WORK HAS REALLY EFFECTED AND CHANGED SO MANY LIFES. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!! Your BIGGEST fan, Quinton of SEATTLE, WASHINGTON |
Dear Denis, I just recently signed on to your WOW program when I got my internet access a couple of weeks ago. I just wanted to say thankyou for all of the wonderful quotes since then and to come. Today I had a very discouraging day. I read the quote you sent by Marvin J. Ashton about discouragement, and it gave me a good excuse to get in a better mood. So Thank you very much for the time and effort you spend every day sending these messages. They indeed are uplifting. Jennifer |
Mr. Nurmela, I am sure you get tons of e-mail expressing what a great service WOW had been, but I felt that I needed to thank you. I am freshman at Utah State University. Everyday I look forward to the uplifting messages. Every message has made me stop, think, and evaluate myself. It has a been a huge growing experience. Thank you so much for providing this service!! You are truly helping to spread the gospel!! Sincerely, Valerie |
Date: Thu, 4 Jun 1998 07:53:15 I have written you before. Each day I read the quote, sometimes it reads into my life, but for a while it hasn't. I am moving to Colorado with my husband, Active Army, in two weeks. I have been here in Washington finishing up my Respiratory Therapy degree. I am scared to leave the only home that I have ever known, my mother and all that is familiar to me. I have so much fear, and excitement at the same time. Probably a lot like a Missionary feels before she goes. I didn't go on a mission so I am guessing. Today's quote read right into my life. I have been praying to find a way to look at life more religiously. You have once again aided me. I love that you put out WOW. It is such a help to so many people. I hope that it blesses your life as much as it does mine. Darcy |
Date: Thu, 4 Jun 1998 06:26:33 Thank you for this quote. As a member of a City Council I have sometimes had to vote in a way that is not popular with the citizens or with fellow council members. We are currently discussing things that I am not in support of and this quote will help me tonight to remember to have the courage to be true to my convictions. Thanks! Cherri |
Denis & Family, I think that the home web site is great! I have long wondered about you and your family. I have many times in the past told friends about the wow site and told them that they should subsribe. Our family has a daughter serving a mission in Portugal. She entered the mission home last October, and left for Portugal in December. I very often include one of the quotes in my letters to her. Also, I keep a few of my favorites in my church binder just in case I get asked for a scripture or thought. Its great to be prepared. I just wanted to say thanks, I do greatly appreciate the time that you spend on this project. .......Keith |
Thank you so much for a little bit of 'heaven' each morning. It helps keep my day on track! Reunell B. |
I get your mail just fine. I am trying to keep you a secret from my friends in the Church. I use the quotes during class to create the illlusion that I have great knowlege. I will, however, selectively let my secret out to members of other wards who don't have computers. Seriously. Great job. I include some of your quotes to my missionary son in the Florida Tampa mission. You are a winner. Just like in tennis, you only win when you serve. Ken |
just a note to let you know how much i appreciate your words each day. i am new to the church (i have a husband and two sons who have graduated from college that do not yet belong to the church), and i am anxiously awaiting the anniversary of my baptism (10/27/96) so i can go to the temple and take out my endowments. your comments on the salt lake temple reminded me of that great day coming..... i live in alaska and i know the seattle temple is closest to us, but i have dreamed of going to the salt lake temple and know that it is where i must go this first time. even more special to me is that the two people who were responsible for my conversion will be going with me to the temple. it will truly be a trip to remember. thanks so much for the bright spot in my mail each day! sincerely, carole from anchorage |
"Live so that you would'nt be ashamed to sell the family parot to the town gossip." (Thanks for the quotes.) |
Hi, Denis! I was just wondering: how do you get all the time to read all our letters we are constantly sending you, and then to send us all a WOW every day?! I just wanted to tell you I think that's great that you do that. It helps give everyone a little burst of that "good, tingly feeling!" If you get time to answer this, will you tell me what gave you this idea (about WOW)? I'd really like to know! Thanks! I'd appreciate it! Sonya |
I can't begin to tell you how I have enjoyed your WOW. I am so grateful to, that we are now able to access all of the previous messages you have shared with us. And by topics no less. This whole modern age of communication just blows my "old" mind. I'm so grateful to have been introduced to the computer even at this late date. I feel like I am crossing my plains in a Cadillac instead of a wagon. Thank you so much! Barbara |
I'll just say thanks, I really don't know what to say, except, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
